Our children’s program is designed to begin teaching children at age 5; however, we will consider individual cases (usually siblings) for children at age 4. We encourage students to remain in this class until the age of 13 or 14 or when a transition to the adult class is recommended by the instructors.
We all know children have shorter attention spans and require more guidance to get through tasks and challenges. Karate classes provide a fast-paced, fun environment to learn the basics, kata, basic self-defense and sparring techniques.
As we train our students, we will motivate them and encourage them to give them a true sense of accomplishment. The grading system is designed to do this and regular attendance and effort will ensure the child is rewarded for their commitment to perseverance.
Tuesdays :: 5:30 - 6:15pm (5yr +)
6:30 - 7:30pm (9yr +)
Thursdays :: 5:30 - 6:15pm (5yr +)
6:30 - 7:30pm (9yr +)
Saturdays :: 11am - 12pm . All ages
While following the same basic principals as the children’s classes, our adult classes are an excellent physical workout for young teens and up. Parents (and even grandparents) of our younger students make great students themselves and have formed a special bond with their children.
There is a misconception that you must be in shape to train karate. This is not the case. We work with all our students to accommodate their skill set and any personal goals and/or limitations they may have. As training continues, you will notice an improvement in muscle tone and conditioning, physical and mental stamina and endurance. Martial arts training is an individual and personal experience, not a competition.
Tuesdays :: 8:00 - 9:30pm
Thursdays :: 8:00 - 9:30pm
Saturdays :: 12:30 - 2:00pm
We have an additional time slot that we call Sparring Night, also known as Fight Club. It is included in your monthly fee’s. These classes occur weekly on Wednesday at 7pm. Speak to one of your Sensei’s if you are interested in joining this specified extra training. These nights are meant for the student to become more comfortable with sparring by going toe-to-toe during rounds of timed sparring matches and are meant for those who already train at the club.
